Clarifying the RRP Law

The EPA has spent years developing the RRP rule. While the concepts are relatively clear, there still are many areas that are not easy to interpret. Lead Records has painstakingly reviewed the law to provide straightforward interpretations and easy to understand step-by-step instructions to make sure that contractors take the necessary steps to meet compliance.

Reducing Risk

Lead poisoning is a very serious risk, primarily to children but to adults as well. Lead Records creates products that guide professional contractors through the necessary steps to lead-safe work practices and the important procedures of documenting their work. Not only will this reduce the chance of lead poisoning to the occupants, workers, and families, but also will reduce the chance of litigation or stiff fines by the EPA.

Founders

Founders Jeff Vasek and Steve Gross have over a decade of experience as General Contractors. Primarily dealing with residential projects, they have a diverse portfolio including kitchen & bathroom remodels, additions, and full house rebuilds.

As remodeling professionals, Jeff and Steve wanted to approach product development entirely from a customer’s perspective.

“Our construction business was dramatically affected by this law,” says Vasek, “we wanted to create products that we would use ourselves. Essentially it was important to have our first testimonial come from our most critical users – us.”

In addition to his building experience, Jeff has over 25 years of teaching, writing, and instructional design experience. Jeff has taught vocational education at the high school level, and spent 20 years in the high tech industry as a writer, trainer, and systems designer.

Steve was co-founder of IntelliChoice, Inc, publisher of award-winning automotive reference guides. IntelliChoice distinguished itself by synthesizing difficult to understand automotive data into easy to comprehend information that helped consumers with their automobile purchase decisions.

Jeff and Steve are Certified Renovators as well Lead Abatement Workers. They are accredited by the EPA as RRP instructors, and have trained hundreds of contractors and homeowners to deal safely with lead-based paint.
